Project keywords: wind energy, community acceptance, justice perceptions, social norms
I am an Early Stage Researcher working in the MISTRAL Project at IZES (Institute for Future Energy and Material Flow Systems) and a PhD student at Saarland University.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in Istanbul, Turkey. During my undergraduate program, I studied Social Sciences and Cultural Studies at Hochschule Düsseldorf in Germany for five months as an exchange student.
I completed a Master of Social Sciences from Marmara University in Istanbul, Turkey. For my master thesis, I focused on analysing the habitus of middle-class families on their educational preferences towards their children and how these reproduced social practices are influenced by social and cultural factors in an urban area. Also, I worked at the Academic Development Unit at my university during my master`s studies. Combining my interest in both urban issues and cinema, I wrote an article on how the Turkish cinema portrayed the social change that took place throughout the years with immigration in Istanbul which got published.
My project in MISTRAL focuses on the justice perceptions in intercultural comparison from the community dimension of social acceptance. This project will examine how justice perceptions are influenced by different project parameters and how they are affected by cultural norms. With this research, a new theoretical approach to understand the extension of intercultural influence on justice is aimed to be developed.
