MediaLab welcomes you to the first in a series of talks with inspiring leaders and innovators in the sphere of advanced media production, immersive technology and the Metaverse. Supported by the AHRC Impact Acceleration Account at Queen’s University.

Interactivity and play, children and toys. How to design a fun interactive physical toy?

Senior Interaction and Experience Designer Micol Galeotti will be sharing her experience at The LEGO Group touching upon some of the challenges and strategies to answer that question.

About the Speaker:

Micol Galeotti - Senior Interactive Play Designer, The LEGO Group

Micol currently works at LEGO’s Creative Play Lab. For the last five years, she’s focused on interaction and experience design. She’s also cheerfully passionate and sometimes Italian loud. With a background in Architecture and Interaction Design, Micol’s focus is on finding the sweet spot between the physical and digital world to deliver the best and most fun experiences. In her spare time, she likes to walk everywhere, constantly feeding her curiosity and hunting for a laugh.

To support ongoing research and collaboration in relation to the Metaverse, the AHRC impact Acceleration account has funded a series of seminars aimed at supporting the research and innovation community engaged in the utilisation of immersive technologies. These seminars will engage critical leaders from diverse creative and technology fields to deliver accessible and timely critical perspectives on emerging technology trends aimed at supporting academia and industry collaboration.
