10-11 September 2015: Randomised Trials course, Belfast
The Northern Ireland Network for Trials Methodology Research, in collaboration with the Northern Ireland Clinical Trials Unit, Queen's University Belfast and Ulster University, is repeating its successful 2-day course on randomised trials later this year. The course will be relevant to people planning or conducting trials in all areas of health and social care, including those hoping to apply for funding from, for example, the National Institute for Health Research. It will take place at Riddell Hall in Belfast and a specially assembled faculty will cover key aspects in the design, conduct and reporting of randomised trials including sessions on:
+ Question formulation
+ Writing a protocol
+ Recruitment and randomisation
+ Choosing and analysing outcomes
+ Governance
+ Getting funded
A registration fee of £250 (£150 for students and people working for charities) will include attendance at the course over the two days, materials, refreshments and lunches. Spaces are limited and if you would like to register, please email Georgina Holmes (G.Holmes@qub.ac.uk).
10-14 June 2016: Masterclass on Systematic Reviews in Cancer, Belfast
The Northern Ireland Network for Trials Methodology Research, Cochrane Methodology Review Group and Queen's University Belfast are working with the European School of Oncology (ESO) to offer this Masterclass for a second time. It will take participants through the conduct of systematic reviews in cancer, helping them to strengthen the design of a review and to learn generic skills for using reviews for policy and practice. Participation is by application only and successful applicants will receive free registration and accommodation.
