City & Growth Deals Advanced Manufacturing Skills Assessment

A Skills Assessment covering all four City and Growth deals across Northern Ireland identified gaps in skills provision and made various recommendations to help ensure that an appropriately qualified workforce can be put in place to meet the anticipated development and growth of the Advanced Manufacturing Sector expected in Northern Ireland.

The Future Skills Report was compiled on behalf of LMETB:AMTCE, Irish Manufacturing Research and AMIC with funding from InterTradeIreland. Despite strong demand, education and training systems are struggling to keep pace with rapid technological change, while industry continues to face difficulties attracting new talent, especially from underrepresented groups.

The Department for the Economy Sectoral Report for AMME

The Department for the Economy has developed a range of sectoral action plans. The Advanced Manufacturing Materials and Engineering plan highlights six recommendations to ensure a future facing and inclusive skills pipeline to nurture talented people with the right skills to support the sector at all levels, helping to create a higher number of good jobs and raising productivity across the sector.
