Ruth Clarke
Fermanagh Country Scottish Dancers
With over 20 years of experience, I am a passionate teacher of Scottish Country and Ceilidh Dancing. My journey began at the University of St Andrews, where I fell in love with the rich tradition of Scottish dance. Upon returning home to Northern Ireland, I joined a local class led by an inspiring teacher in her 80s, who encouraged me to complete my teacher training. That same teacher is still going strong today at 102 — a true testament to the life-enhancing power of dance! Now, I teach in schools across Northern Ireland, sharing the joy of dancing with the next generation. On weekends, I call ceilidhs with the lively Alastair Scott Ceilidh Band, bringing energy and fun to weddings, birthdays, and social events of all kinds. A highlight of my career? Calling a ceilidh at Tim Wheeler’s (of Ash) Hogmanay birthday party!
