Dr Argyro Tsampazi

Argyro Tsampazi is a dance researcher and choreographer based in the UK. Her research explores the intersection of dance, religion, and spirituality. She has a PhD in Dance from Queen’s University Belfast, which investigated the effects of the application of Orthodox ascetic practices to choreographic processes and dance performance. She also holds an MA in Choreography from Fonty's University in The Netherlands, a BA in Theology from Aristotle University in Greece, and a BA in Dance Teaching from the Greek Ministry of Culture.

Argyro has worked extensively as a dancer and dance teacher throughout her career. She has choreographed various types of performances, including contemporary pieces, ballet, musicals, and theatre productions. She has also held art director and artistic assessor roles for dance companies, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the European Union. She is currently a member of the Postsecular Performances international academic network.
