Overview
This event has been organised by the PDC as part of a series of live online podcast recordings. In this career insights session, Dr Alice Dubois, Postdoctoral Development Centre Manager, will be joined by guests, Dr Caroline Barelle (QUB MHLS Entrepreneur in Residence / CEO and Founder of Elasmogen) and Kat Maguire (Lean Startup Programme Manager, QUB).
Caroline will talk about her career, from being a postdoc to working in small companies, big pharmaceutical companies and setting up her own start-up.
Kat will then highlight some of the innovation programmes she manages, and how they enable postdocs and PhDs to learn about research commercialisation, test the market for their research and even become CEOs!
The conversations will be recorded with the intention of converting them to episodes of the PDC's podcast, "The theory of the postdoc evolution".
We advise interested parties to attend the recording live in the event that any technical issues arise that may prevent us from using the recording. Attendees will also be able to see our guests and use the chat function to ask questions.
ALL WELCOME!
This recording is open to anyone who is interested in attending, including those external to Queen's University Belfast, postdocs and PhD candidates! Note that the entrepreneurship programmes Kat will talk about are not limited to Queen's University Belfast.
