QCAP Knowledge Sharing Sessions - Atlantic Technological University

In October 2025, QCAP welcomed the Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Research Group to Queen’s for an information sharing session.

The ATU Research Group comprised researchers working in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, Engineering, and Digital Health. The information session saw sharing of expertise, insights and discussion of methodologies which underpin high quality and impactful research.

The information sharing session was led by Dr Karen McGuigan (Senior Research Fellow, QCAP), Dr Emma Loudon (Research Fellow, QCAP), and Dr Amanda Morse (Research Fellow, QCAP). Karen provided an overview of the QCAP model with an applied example from QCAP’s engaged research in community health and wellbeing. She also highlighted QCAP’s ethos of evidence synthesis, leading an information session on systematic, scoping and rapid reviews.

Dr Emma Loudon presented on Participatory research methods and their application; whilst Dr Amanda Morse led on the use of ‘R’ and ‘R studio’ in research.

Dr Pranavsingh Dhunnoo (ATU Research Group President) reflected on the session:

"The Information Sharing Session between QCAP and the ATU Research Society was highly insightful. We greatly appreciate the expertise that was shared; the opportunity to learn about the research that QCAP are conducting, and the positive impact it's having on local communities. We hope to further extend such collaboration with future sessions and workshops between our institutes. We would also like to thank QUB and QCAP for hosting us and organising the event."
