Archived Sections
What Does Archiving a Section Mean?
Once a section is set to Archive, it is still on the live site but it is no longer published each time the site is published. An Archive Section can be used for areas of the site where publishing is not required each time a site is published, e.g., sections where content may not change frequently. This helps improve system performance by reducing publish times, especially for sections with a lot of content.
- Archive sections are still on the live site
- They no longer publish each time the site is published
- Child Sections (sub sections) automatically inherit Archive status also
- Periodically, the Web Support Team may need to publish Archived sections in order for accessibility and styling updates to be applied.

Can I Update Content within an Archived Section?

If you want to publish your updated content within an Archive section you can do this by:
- Removing the archive status
- Wait until the next publish cycle has completed
- You can then re-archive the section as required
